I hope everyone had a great holiday season! It was our first as a shop, and we enjoyed all of the handmade holiday cheer that each of you brought to the shop! The new year is upon us, and this is the time of year that I like to reflect on achievements and look forward to what the new year has in store.
Year of Firsts
This year was a year full of firsts for the shop! We opened our doors on January 14th, 2017, and the community welcomed us with open arms. It has been an exciting first year with such a beautiful and caring community to back us up.
We welcomed our first employees and instructors! Most of our team has been with us since opening day and we are so thankful to have such knowledgable team members. Each person brings their own speciality to the shop, creating a welcoming and inviting space for all makers alike.
It was our first year participating in yarn crawl! We had such a great time getting to know the community better and meeting so many lovely yarn enthusiasts! We have some great ideas for Chicago Yarn Crawl 2018, all thanks to your input!
This year we partnered up with Heidi from Hands Occupied to host our first #MKALIRL (Mystery Knit A Long In Real Life). For several weeks we meet every Friday to knit along with Heidi's KAL and generally hang out. What a great way to get the community together! We'll be hosting more KAL's in the future!
Looking forward to 2018
We have some great things in the works for 2018. We are starting to fill up our workshop schedule to bring you new and fun workshops with guest artists and instructors!
We are working hard to continually bring you more all natural and sustainable yarns from the Americas and around the world. Our goal is to focus on indie and all natural dyers, who use local wool and sustainable practices.
As always, our main goal is to continue to support and grow the maker community by offering classes, project support, and hosting events to bring the maker community together!
We appreciate everyone who has come through the shop and supported us in all the little ways that have made a big impact on our community!
Happy New Year and Welcome 2018!
