Our Mission

Firefly Fiber Arts Studio is a locally owned shop and studio in the heart of Chicago, IL. Our mission is to offer all natural and sustainable fibers, quality tools, and a friendly and encouraging space to learn and create.

Firefly is committed to offering socially and environmentally responsible yarns and wools. All the fiber we carry is free of plastic and harmful chemicals. We collaborate with, and support local and small businesses who share our commitment to sustainability. The beauty of yarn, in any fiber, is it is handled from start to finish by makers. First, we support the farmers who grow and care for our fiber from the very start. Dyers saturate the fiber with color and spinners twist the raw materials in a long strands for us to loop and weave into anything our imaginations can create.

Firefly offers a variety of classes and workshops for all skill levels. This includes, but is not limited to, knitters, crocheters, weavers, and spinners. By fostering the fiber arts community with products and services, our goal is to be a place to welcome, support, and inspire fiber artists in the Chicago community.

No matter your passion or skill level, we are dedicated to supporting the maker, the shaker, the doer, the creator, in you.
