Learn how to make this adorable knitted bear stuffy! Stuffy’s are one of Sarah’s favorite knit projects, and she will guide you through the process of knitting, sewing, stuffing and creating your own bear! By the end of the class, you will have a new friend you created.

In this workshop, each week progresses to the next step outlined by the instructor. This class includes “homework” that will need to be done outside of class for the next session. Any missed classes will need to be made up during the week, before the next class.

This workshop has a 3 person minimum.

Prerequisites
Must know basic knit stitches including the knit and purl stitch, basic increase and decrease stitches, long tail cast on.

Techniques Covered

• Increase and decrease stitches: ssp, kfb, m1rp, & m1lp

• Mattress stitch

• Backstitch

• Whip Stitch

• Sewing on face features

• Stuffing techniques

• Attaching pieces together

Workshop Includes

• Little Tearoom Bears: Method 2 (8") by Susan Hickson

• Embroidery thread for eyes and nose

• Sewing needle and thread for assembly

• Poly-fil for stuffing

• Buttons for trousers

• 6 hours of instruction by Sarah Jamison

• Step-by-step guidance of pattern

Materials Required

• Yarn: Main Body color - about 100 yds in worsted weight yarn

• Yarn: Muzzle color - about 50 yds in worsted weight yarn

• Yarn: Trousers color - about 25 yds in fingering weight yarn

• US 2.5 (3 mm) knitting needles

• Removable stitch markers, preferably locking

• Tapestry needle

• Scissors

All students will receive 10% off yarn and needles needed for the workshop.
