Get cozy this winter season and learn to make this chic and cozy cardigan! Learn all the extra finishing techniques that add that special touch to handmade clothing. This cardigan features a striped pattern and a high collar, and a knit-as-you-go button band.

Class instruction includes coverage on reading and interpreting more bare-bones patterns, managing more than one ball of yarn at once, and more technical skills like button holes and tubular bind off for achieving a more professional finish.

In this workshop, each week progresses to the next step outlined by the instructor. This class includes “homework” that will need to be done outside of class for the next session. Any missed classes will need to be made up during the week, before the next class.

This workshop has a 3 person minimum.

Prerequisites
Must be proficient knitting, purling, and increase and decrease (i.e. m1r, m1l, k2tog, ssk). Must be confident at knitting in the round as well as knitting flat. Must be confident at identifying knit stitches and purl stitches on knitted fabric. Strongly recommended to have knit at least a few items following a pattern. This workshop is technique heavy, especially in the beginning steps.

Materials Required

• Amount of yarn according to the size you would like to make (scroll down for sizing info)

• US 6 (4 mm) & US 8 (5 mm) circular needles in 24” - 47” cords and needles in the same size in preferred small circumference for sleeves (DPN, magic loop, 10” circulars)

• Stitch markers

• Tape measure

• Tapestry needle

All students will receive 10% off yarn and needles needed for the workshop.
