This easy and cozy sweater is perfect for beginner knitters and a first sweater! We’ll be making the Roads sweater by Hailey Smedley, an oversized cozy sweater knit with worsted weight yarn. Knit top down, it is easy to try on as you are knitting and customize to make the fit perfect for you! Our experienced instructor, Sarah, will guide you through every step of creating your sweater.

In this workshop, each week progresses to the next step outlined by the instructor. This class includes “homework” that will need to be done outside of class for the next session. Any missed classes will need to be made up during the week, before the next class.

This workshop has a 3 person minimum.

Prerequisites
Must be proficient knitting, purling, and knitting flat and in the round. This workshop is first sweater friendly!

Techniques Covered

• German Short Rows

• Picking up stitches

• Increase and decrease techniques

• Backwards loop cast-on

• Tubular bind off

• How to customize the sizing

Workshop Includes

• Roads Sweater pattern by Hailey Smedley

• 7.5 hours of instruction by Sarah

• Step-by-step guidance throughout pattern

Materials Required

• Amount of yarn according to the size you would like to make (scroll down for sizing info)

• 5 mm (US Size 8) 16" and 32-40" circular needles (main needles - used for body, hem, sleeves, cuffs, and collar)

• 4 mm (US Size 6) 16" and 32-40" circular needles (used for rolled edges)

• Stitch markers

• Tape measure

• Tapestry needle

All students will receive 10% off yarn and needles needed for the workshop.
