Fair Isle Knitting Course

Fair Isle Knitting Course
Wednesdays, Feb 4 - April 8
6pm - 7:30pm
See schedule below
Led by Sarah Jamison
The Fair Isle Knitting Course is a 10 week course designed to teach you all the facets of knitting a Fair Isle sweater! Fair Isle knitting, also known as stranded colorwork knitting, is a regional style to the Scottish highlands. This style uses many colors through out the sweater and repeating patterns to create a colorful and eye-catching sweater. Fair Isle sweaters are also unique in where you knit the whole sweater in the round, and then cut your knitting (steeking) to create the sleeves and cardigan. While these sweaters can be intimidating, our experienced instructor, Sarah, will guide you through every step of creating your Fair Isle sweater.
This is a 10 week course, with “workshop” days and “studio” days. Workshop days are teaching days, with most of the workshop time dedicated with instruction. Studio days are designed to give makers time to work on their project with support for questions and troubleshooting. This course includes “homework” that will need to be done outside of class. Any missed workshop days will need to be made up during a studio before the next workshop day occurs.
This workshop has a 3 person minimum.
